Right beside you is a lighthouse that has guarded the coastline since 1901 and watched over countless ships, including the ill-fated Titanic, as they enter Belfast Lough. From this vantage point, you are monarch of all your survey.

A stay at this atmospheric self-catering accommodation opens up wonderful opportunities. Get a rare insight into what it was like to be a lighthouse keeper watching over the comings and goings at sea. Up until 1975, when automation arrived, this was home to the keeper.

The furnishings and mementos you see around you today evoke memories of a bygone age. Well-worn wooden floors, stone stairs leading down to a basement bedroom, old pine furniture and open fire... all make for a special experience.

Imagine the possibilities for exploration here. Climb down the cliff path and walk along the shore to the nearby seaside village of Whitehead. Venture further afield to take in Carrickfergus, Belfast and the outstanding Antrim coastline.

The two recently refurbished adjoined houses offer varied options. They can be rented separately or together, with a direct link being possible between the two via the basement accommodation where desired.

In total, the two superb dwellings can accommodate 12 people - five in House 1 and seven in House 2. Each house has 1 double and 1 triple bedroom, bathrooms, shower-rooms, kitchens and sitting rooms. Bed linen and towels are provided.
