A house stood on this site since the early 1600s but listen, with amazement, as the Maddens trace their family history right back to the Irish princes of the 5th century!

What a remarkable tale the eight generation of the Madden family have about the house their family has occupied for over 250 years. Expect to be enthralled by its chequered history over the past 250 years and more. Find out about the great architectural and building feats, and the many colourful and talented family members.

Take a close look at the many period furnishings, some brought back from afar, which have been here for generations. For the musically minded, there is the unique opportunity to play the splendidly original 'Erard' concert grand piano, which dates from the time of Chopin!

Hear about the links forged between the family with famous names such as Admiral Nelson, Napoleon, Dean Swift, Oliver Goldsmith and Dr. Samuel Johnson.

And what a vista awaits you as you step outside its impressive doors. Embark on an adventure of exploration through the magnificent demesne of woodland, lakes and pasture. Take particular note of the the five great oaks, that are in line with the front door and are four centuries old!

The Hilton Park estate offers exciting possibilities for various active pursuits. Take to one of the lakes on a boat for rowing or fishing. Go for a swim in pure clear water - exhilarating. Or try out your swing at the local Golf Club which is located on the grounds.

Endless possibilities exist for activity and exploration in the area nearby. The manor house, for instance, is situated at the head of the great valley of the Erne; one of Ireland's most beautiful lakes. Your hosts have a boat available and can arrange day-trips on the lake while bicycles can also be hired locally to take advantage of quiet country roads. Hilton Park is also available for exclusive rental for private house parties, family celebrations or a weekend break. A Gate Lodge in the grounds also offers self-catering rental accommodation.
